The new edition of the CWTS Course for Professionals on ‘Measuring Science and Research Performance’ will be held on the campus of the University of Leiden right after the 2018 STI Conference, between the 17th and 21st of September.
This one-week course provides participants with the bibliometric knowledge and skills they need to interpret bibliometric statistics properly and usefully. Lectures about citation analysis, network analysis and science mapping, and societal impact of research. Participants learn to work with advanced bibliometric indicators and with the VOSviewer science mapping software. They will also be introduced to different data sources, including altmetrics and patent databases, which are used for evaluation purposes.
